Episode 213

Surprise

The episode starts with Buffy having a horrible nightmare where an empowered Drusilla stakes Angel before wishing Buffy a happy birthday. 

Buffy and Angel have a preschool makeout the next day where Angel comforts and reassures Buffy, and they share with each other that their feelings are intensifying. 

At school, Willow asks Oz to go on a date with her to Buffy’s surprise party at the Bronze the next night. Jenny is visited by her mysterious uncle, who warns Jenny to keep Buffy away from Angel. 

Dru and Spike are assembling an indestructible demon called the Judge, but Buffy manages to steal one of his arms, thus preventing his full assembly, and in the process, crashes her own party, quite literally. 

Jenny suggests that Angel take the arm to the other side of the world, but he and Buffy are ambushed by Spike's hench-vamps, and the Judge is re-awakened. The Judge has the power to kill with a single touch and almost kills Buffy, but she and Angel make an escape. 

They emerge out of the sewer and into the rain, running to Angel’s apartment for shelter. Buffy changing into dry clothes not-so-surprisingly turns into professions of love and then the usual making out, falling out of screen, and one of them waking up after. THEY HAD SEX, PEOPLE. 

Angel awakens in distress and intense pain and runs from his bed into the street, leaving Buffy behind, still asleep in her afterglow.
